Certificate III in Aged Care Work

Nationally Recognised Training

Overview

You can complete a Certificate III in Aged Care Work with Health Training Australia, by a Skills Recognition process.

Recommended for

Skills Recognition or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process of accessing a person's skills and knowledge against national standards.

Skills recognition is available to:

  • Existing workers that have been employed in the industry for 12 months or more, and
  • Have no formal qualifications

What does it involve?

Applicants are required to:

  • Fill in an application form.
  • Complete a knowledge question pack.
  • A Workplace Assessor will be in contact to discuss the process and assess applicants on the job.
  • Applicants who demonstrate the required skills will receive a Nationally Recognised qualification.

  • Up-skill existing staff to a national standard
  • Off-the-job training is available to applicants that require additional training

Cost

The cost of the Skills Recognition process is $475.00 (GST free).

Applicants are also required to provide:

  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate,
  • A current manual handling update within the past 12 months.

Application

Fill in an application form providing details about yourself, work experience and skills.

Applications should be sent to Health Training Australia with full payment.

Assessment

A knowledge question pack will then be issued to eligible applicants. Complete as much as possible of the question package and send it back to Health Training Australia.

A Workplace Assessor will then contact you to discuss the assessment process.

Training

Additional training or attendance in class may be required for some units.

In class training is available at Health Training Australia for each of the 13 units for Certificate III in Aged Care Work.

Completion

Applicants who demonstrate the required skills and knowledge will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Certificate III in Aged Care Work.
