Certificate III in Home and Community Care (CH30308)
Overview
This course has been designed to give participants the knowledge, understanding and practical skills needed to work in a home care environment. It is recommended for people interested in working in a home or community care environment.
On successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Certificate III in Home and Community Care. Certificate III in Home and Community Care is the desired qualification sought by many service providers when employing staff.
Course Content
Includes 14 units of competency covering:
- Working effectively in a home care environment
- An older persons physical, emotional and behavioural needs
- Specialised units on dementia, disabilities and first aid
- Occupational health and safety
- Manual handling

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Provide support and assistance to older people or people with disabilities of all ages to meet their physical, emotional and behavioural needs
- Communicate effectively with older people
- Work in a safe and effective manner in the home care sector
- Provide information and reporting relating to the care of persons in the home environment
