HLT23215 Certificate II in Health Support Services

Overview

The course is designed to allow participants to achieve a Nationally Recognised Certificate II in Health Support Services while you work.

This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide support for the effective functioning of health services.  At this level workers complete tasks under supervision involving known routines and procedures or complete routine but variable tasks in collaboration with others in a team environment.

Course Content

Required to complete 12 Units of Competency. Course is structured with regard to the role of the Health Support Services worker. All course material will be provided by way of Learning Guides which are part of the on the job learning process. Depending on the stream, the course includes:

  • Communication in health or community services
  • Infection control
  • Occupational safety and health
  • Basic food services and cleaning
