Certificate III in Health Support Services (HLT32807)

Overview

This course is designed to allow participants to achieve a Nationally Recognized Certificate III in Health Support Services while you work. The course is designed to consolidate and expand the skills and knowledge of those who have completed the Certificate II in Health Support Services.

Recommended For

The program is targeted for Health Support Workers in a Hospital or residential aged care environment including:

• Patient care assistants
• Orderly services
• Waste disposal
• Food services
• Cleaning
• Laundry
• Stores

Course Content

Required to complete 15 Units of Competency. Course is structured with regard to the role of the Health Support Services worker. All course material will be provided by way of Learning Guides which are part of the on the job learning process. Depending on the stream, the course includes:

• Cleaning, food services, client movement
• First aid
• Infection control
• Occupational safety and health
• Working with challenging behaviour
