HTA Employment & Training is a not for profit Group Training Organisation, sponsored by the Australian Medical Association.
How?
Trainees are recruited and employed by HTA and placed with you, the 'host employer' for the duration of the traineeship. Trainees can work part-time (minimum 20hrs/ week) or full-time (35+ hrs/ week).
HTA manages employment and administration including: (in consultation with Host Employers)
Advertising and Recruitment
- Payment of trainee wages
- Annual and sick leave entitlements
- Workers Compensation
What are the benefits?

- Save time and money being free of all administration and payroll associated with employing staff
- Gain a skilled and motivated employee trained to the needs of your business
- On-going support from HTA Consultants throughout the traineeship
- No binding contracts
- Training is delivered on-the-job. A kit, including workbooks is provided for the trainee. Trainees complete a Certificate II or combined Certificate II and III in Business.
Charge Out Rates
Charge out rates for Medical Reception trainees is based on cost recovery and includes all Annual Leave Entitlements, Workers Compensation Insurance and Superannuation.

Example: A trainee is paid $14.87 per hour (adult rate) and works 20 hours per week. The charge to the host employer is:
($14.87 + $4.00) x 20hrs = $377.40
+ 10% GST = $415.14
HTA Employment and Training direct debits the host employer fortnightly. The trainee's wages go directly into their bank account each fortnight.
