2015 Group Training Australia (WA) Awards of Excellence
The Group Training Australia (WA) Awards of Excellence were held on 09 October 2015 at Burswood on Swan. Over 130 guests attended to recognise the top apprentices and trainees that are employed by a group training organisation (GTO) in Western Australia and the Host Employers who support the training of apprentices and trainees through group training. The awards were presented by Mr Jan Norberger MLA, member for Joondalup, representing the Minister for Training and Workforce Development the Hon Liza Harvey MLA.
Health Training Australia extremely pleased that out host employer Aegis Aged Care Group won the Host Employer of the Year Award. Aegis are a strong supporter of Health Training Australia (HTA) and over the last 10 years has taken on nearly 450 trainees from HTA many of whom stay on with Aegis after they compete their traineeship.
HTA is also very proud of our trainee nominee, Kahlijah, who is to be congratulated for being selected as a finalist for the Trainee of the Year Award. Kahlijah has been outstanding as a trainee with her host employer, Disability Services Commission and thoroughly deserved her nomination for trainee of the year. To be selected as a finalist is a great achievement in itself.
ACSWA 2015 Excellence in Care Awards
On 5 June, Health Training Australia (HTA) attended the ACSWA 2015 Excellence in Care Awards at Crown Perth. There are many categories of which people were commended on their efforts, one category in particular was the Trainee Award sponsored by AMAWA.
Overall the night was a huge success and we enjoyed being involved as an integral sponsor as well as a presenter during the gala presentation dinner. Congratulations again to the award winners and finalists.

Trainees find a career in aged care thanks to Health Training Australia and the support of their host employer. They also had some very nice things to say about their experience with HTA and their host employer. Thanks to Jayne Cummings, Facility Manager, Tuohy Aged Care Home for sending us their feedback.
